The bending procedure represents one of the most common and diffused sheet metal processing methods. Folding is an operation aimed at plastically deforming a sheet by bending it and which, generally, produces permanent folds in relatively limited areas of the sheet itself.

Folding constitutes the fundamental stage in the metal sheet’s forming procedure, if we take into consideration the various processes carried out in the light carpentry field.
